SOUTHINGTON
Helen M. Washtock, 44, of Cleveland was killed after being hit by an SUV on U.S. Route 422 late Friday.
About 10:15 p.m. Friday, a 2005 Hyundai Sante Fe driven by Danielle Lombardo, 32, of Niles was traveling eastbound on U.S. Route 422, when it struck Washtock, who was walking eastbound in the roadway.
The crash occurred just east of state Route 305.
Washtock was pronounced dead at the scene.
She is the third person to be killed in a traffic crash in Trumbull County this year, according to the Warren Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Lombardo was not injured.
Drug and alcohol results are pending toxicology tests, and the crash remains under investigation.

Eleven people became U.S. citizens Thursday in a naturalization ceremony before Judge Mark A. Belinky of Mahoning County Probate Court.
