Mercer County Women’s Connect extends invitations to a kickoff event from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Feb. 11 at the Avalon at Buhl, 1030 Forker Blvd.
At the recent Lawrence Mercer ATHENA events, the need for a women’s networking group became apparent to Marci Radcliffe, Karen Piccirilli and Lynne Garfinkel. They are leading the effort to form the this new women’s group in Mercer County, similar to Lawrence County’s Women Connect.
This event will allow them to find out what women in the county find relevant. The organizers will address how the group can help others, discuss how Women’s Connect can be launched and assess community interest in the group.
The kickoff event is sponsored by the Community Foundation of Western Pa. & Eastern Ohio. It is free to attend, and reservations are needed by Tuesday at mercercountywomensconnect@gmail.com.
Radcliffe was the first recipient of the ATHENA Young Proffessional Leadership Award. The award’s rich history, international scope and focus on mentoring place it among the most prestigious leadership awards. All three women have been part of ATHENA event steering committees.
