Shooting death probed

NESHANNOCK, Pa.

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the death of a 25-year-old man found shot in his residence as a homicide.

Joseph Charles Pagley III was found dead about 11:30 p.m. Sunday in his residence at 3 Kenneth Ave. by acquaintances after they were unable to contact him.

There does not appear to have been a forced entry to the home, and the incident appears to be a targeted act, as opposed to a random act of violence, police said.

State police were releasing no further information.

They asked anyone with information to call them at 724-598-2211.

There were no injuries, and the cause of the fire is under investigation. The resident of the home was displaced by the blaze, and Boardman fire officials contacted the American Red Cross for shelter.
