Man brandishing gun at Old Navy in Boardman has hearing

BOARDMAN — The man arrested Dec. 24 after assembling an airsoft rifle in his truck and pointing it out the window at the Shops at Boardman Park pleaded not guilty to inducing panic in court here today.

Donald Pickney, 47, of Louisiana faces a misdemeanor charge of inducing panic and a felony charge of carrying a concealed weapon after police found a loaded gun in his truck. The gun he pointed out of his window was determined to be an airsoft gun after police got multiple 911 calls about a man pointing a rifle at people.

Pickney asked for more time before scheduling a preliminary hearing on both charges.

He is free on bond pending a preliminary hearing in Mahoning County Area Court here.
