Multiple gas stations in Youngstown reported prices at $1.99 a gallon for regular gas Sunday.

Gateway Gas Mart at 1222 Market St., Shell at 3200 Market St., Valley Service Center at 1564 Mahoning Ave. and Jordan’s Market at 1520 Market St. were the gas stations listed on gasbuddy.com with prices at $1.99.

Suspect transferred

YOUNGSTOWN

Paul Kerr, 48, of Louisville, Ohio, a suspect in a fatal shooting on Youngstown’s South Side, was transferred Friday from the Lawrence County jail to the Mahoning County jail, according to The Vindicator’s broadcast news partner, 21 WFMJ-TV.

A Lawrence County Common Pleas Court judge ruled earlier that Kerr could be extradited to Ohio for prosecution.

Kerr is accused of shooting Lenzie Morgan in the head during a family dispute on Shady Run Road on Sept. 30. Morgan died in the hospital several days after the shooting.

Suspects in thefts

Two men were arrested after police said they stole catalytic converters from vehicles in the area of Spartan Drive on Saturday night, according to The Vindicator’s broadcast partner, 21 WFMJ-TV.

Jonathan Lockridge, 34, of North Benton, and Derek Watson, 29, of Austintown, were both arrested on the charges of having stolen property and criminal tools. Three catalytic converters and a handsaw were found in a truck.

Zumba fundraiser

A free Zumba class set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Brentford House, 737 Myron St., Hubbard, is part of an effort to feed needy people.

Veterinarian Dr. Suzanne Wilcox and her team are sponsoring the event, where the focus is to set a world record for the largest group workout across the world. ViSalus, a meal-replacement shake company, will be donating 30 free meals each in the name of every person who participates. The Refuge in Liberty and Second Harvest Food Bank are two local agencies to which meals can be donated, Wilcox said.

Polar Bear Bike Ride

HERMITAGE, PA.

The Shenango Valley YMCA, 925 N. Hermitage Road, will host its 13th annual Polar Bear Bike Ride on New Year’s Day. All riders can participate in one of the three routes, with distances of about 11, 21 or 30 miles. Riders will leave the YMCA at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. The routes are over lightly traveled country roads with no rest stops along the way. A sag wagon will sweep the course to provide aid to those in need. A lunch will be served afterward at the YMCA.
