Youth band, choir seeks members

Sharon, PA

The Maestro Arts Performing Arts Academy is seeking students to participate in its youth concert band and choir.

The academy is on the second floor of the James E. Winner Jr. Arts & Culture Center, 98 E. State St. It teaches private music lessons on a variety of band instruments, including piano and guitar, and also voice and steel drum. Other classes include acting, musical theater, and Kindermusik, a curriculum aimed at children and their parents from age newborn to 7 years. ‚Ç

The newest endeavor, the youth concert band and choir, which will begin in January. Students in grades 4 through 6 are being sought for the band, while the chorus seeks students in grades 6 through 8. The goal is to have 50-60 students in the band program and 30-40 in the choir program.

Talent show seeks singers, dancers

WARREN

The Martin Luther King Weekend Talent Show will be Jan. 17 from 5-7 p.m. at Trumbull Community Action Program building (formerly West Junior High School), 1230 Palmyra Road. Admission is $5.

All types of entertainers are being sought to perform at the show, including singers, singing groups, dancers, bands, poets and clean rappers. All ages are eligible. The audience will pick the winners, who will be awarded cash prizes and recording time with Gregg Johnson Productions.
