POLICE CALLS

A summary of police activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown:

CANFIELD

Dec. 11

Warrant: Police arrested Michael Mercer, 30, of Courtney Road, Beloit, on a bench warrant out of Columbiana County.

Dec. 14

Drug offense: Police arrested David Trevena, 22, of Burkey Road, Austintown, on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and drug possession.

Dec. 16

Drug paraphernalia: Police arrested a 17-year-old female student from Poland on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center, 7300 N. Palmyra Road.

Dec. 18

Warrant: Trayiona Walker-Bell, 19, of Taft Avenue, Youngstown, surrendered to police. He was wanted on a warrant for failure to appear in Canfield Mayor’s Court.

Dec. 20

Drug possession: Police arrested James Donbar, 44, of Freeport, Ohio, on a charge of drug possession. The arrest was made on West Main Street.

AUSTINTOWN

Dec. 15

Burglary: Pills were taken in a burglary at a home in the 1000 block of Laurie Drive.

Theft: $83.01 in fuel was stolen from the Get Go, 5163 Mahoning Ave.

Assault: Police took into custody a 12-year-ol student at Austintown Middle School for a reported assault on a police officer at the school, 800 S. Raccoon Road.

Warrant: Police arrested Ronald Green, 18, of Mahoning Avenue on a felony warrant out of Texas for burglary.

Theft: A winning ticket was stolen out of a machine by a male suspect at Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course, 777 Hollywood Drive.

Dec. 16

Drug offense: Police issued a summons to Marjo Patterson, 36, of Park Circle, Warren, and to Keith Stambaugh, 34, of Palmyra Road, Canfield, both for possession of marijuana.

Warrant: Police arrested Hope Young, 28, of Neal Street, Niles, on a warrant for two counts of receiving stolen property.

Theft: Police arrested Vicki Shacklock, 55, of Florence Drive, North Lima, on a theft charge. Police said she took 32 items totaling $515.72 from Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Two males fled with Carhartt jackets at Tractor Supply, 6225 Mahoning Ave.

Warrant: Police arrested Ross Davis, 27, of Laurie Drive on a warrant for theft.

Dec. 17

Fraud: An account was fraudulently opened for a person who lives in a home in the 5000 block of Willowcrest Drive.

Warrant: Police arrested Albert Barnette, 40, of Upland Avenue, Youngstown, on a warrant for failure to appear for driving under suspension.

Theft: A Playstation, controller, wires and games were stolen from a home in the 1000 block of North Meridian Road.

Theft: A Huntington Bank debit card was stolen from a home in the 5000 block of North Beacon Drive.

Dec. 18

Attempted breaking and entering: A rear overhead door was damaged but no entry was gained at Austintown Beverage Center, 4903 Mahoning Avenue.

Theft: $1,370 in cash was stolen from a home in the 200 block of North Raccoon Road.

Theft: Tires and rims were stolen from a trailer at National Tire Sales, 534 N. Meridian Road.

Breaking and entering: Copper pipes were taken from a home in the 200 block of South Beverly Avenue.

Dec. 19

Burglary: A television was stolen from an apartment in the 1000 block of Fountain Square.

Burglary: Several items of jewelry were stolen from a home in the 5000 block of Herons Boulevard.

Dec. 20

Attempted burglary: Police arrested Kevin Hanks, 25, no address listed, on charges of attempted burglary, resisting arrest, obstructing official business, disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing.

Theft: A person drove off without paying $28.78 for gas at Country Fair, 1143 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: Police issued a summons to Amber Stefka, 23, of North Road, Niles, for theft of $212.25 in merchandise at Walmart. A Walmart employee, Stefka and an accomplice checked out at the self-checkout lane and scanned some items but not all of them.

Aggravated menacing: Threats were made to shoot a family at a home in the 200 block of North Yorkshire Boulevard.

Breaking and entering: Damage was made to the main door and a glass broken at a home in the 90 block of North Edgehill Avenue.

Drug offense: Police arrested Robert White, 27, who told police he was homeless, for possession of drug paraphernalia, possessing drug- abuse instruments and tampering with evidence.

Dec. 21

Aggravated robbery: A male was jumped, a gun pulled on him and a phone, keys and money were taken from the victim’s home in the 1000 block of South Raccoon Road.

Theft: Police arrested Lacey Shobel, 32, of Compass West, and Donald Mulholland, 30, of Kroeck Avenue, on theft charges. Police accused them of taking $375.35 in merchandise from Walmart.
