Happy Trails raising funds to expand animal sanctuary

Staff report

RAVENNA

Happy Trails Animal Sanctuary Inc., 5623 New Milford Road, has an opportunity to expand its facility.

A land-acquisition campaign is underway to assist Happy Trails in raising funds for the expansion.

The expansion is a 5-acre property that includes a home and barn, located next to the sanctuary, won through a bid on a sheriff’s sale of the site.

The home on the expansion property is slated to serve as a Happy Trails educational facility that will offer animal-care clinics, animal-education classes, equine-health seminars, Compassionate Kids Programs, animal-friendly cooking classes, animal-art classes, special guest speakers and more.

The barn on the property is planned to provide a quarantine or overflow area for newly rescued animals.

The property’s abundant pasture will provide rescued horses with an additional turn-out area.

Happy Trails urges participants to donate promptly. The sanctuary has only 60 days to complete its purchase of the facility.

Visit www.happytrailsfarm.org to donate online, or to print out a donation form that can be returned to the facility at Happy Trails Farm Animal Sanctuary, 5623 New Milford Road, Ravenna, OH 44266.

Credit-card information also can be called in to the facility at 330-296-5914. All donations are tax-deductible.
