Callahans’ 50th anniversary will be marked

YOUNGSTOWN

Mr. and Mrs. James N. Callahan of Youngstown will observe the upcoming 50th anniversary of their wedding.

The couple have two children, James S. Callahan of Youngstown and Jean K. Slack of Kunkletown, Pa., and four grandchildren.

Mrs. Callahan, the former Jean Marie Batchelder, worked for several greenhouses as a cashier and plant caretaker. She is retired.

Mr. Callahan earned a four-year degree in pictorial art. He retired in 1994 as a production supervisor at General Motors in Lordstown. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1959 to 1963 on a submarine tender and aircraft carrier.

The couple exchanged vows Dec. 30, 1964, in Union, N.J., and again on Jan. 2, 1965, in an East Orange, N.J., church.
