Cornersburg Dairy Queen owners Ray and Chrissy Smith celebrated the holiday season with their customers during their annual Christmas in Cornersburg celebration Dec. 5.

The Smiths offered their guests several holiday activities, including a live reindeer, live Christmas music, the opportunity to make smores and roast hot dogs and marshmallows over an open fire and, of course, the chance to meet and have their photo taken with Santa Claus.

Despite the rainy weather, Santa arrived to a large crowd of anxious onlookers on a Youngstown Fire Department fire truck with lights and sirens in full force.

After his arrival, Santa set up outside to talk to all the children and take pictures with them. Guests could use their own cameras or have a photo taken which would be developed by Cornersburg Walgreens and available for pick up at Dairy Queen.

Members of the Canfield High School choir serenaded customers with Christmas carols and members of the CHS band performed outside for attendees. Members of the Boardman High School band played Christmas carols inside for diners.

“This is a Christmas party for the community. We appreciate our customers’ support all year long and it is fun to celebrate the season with them. We are so blessed to have such great customers and this is a fun thing to do for them,” said Ray Smith.
