OSHP investigating Southington fatal


SOUTHINGTON — The Ohio State Highway Patrol says an autopsy will be performed this morning on the body of man struck and killed by a pickup truck late Wednesday on state Route 305.

Troopers say they believe they know the identity of the man and will be able to confirm it later this morning. He had no identification with him.

A westbound 1989 Chevrolet pickup truck struck the man as he walked near the center lane of Route 305 near U.S. Route 422 in Southington. The driver, Scott Williams, 18, of Southington, was not injured. The pedestrian was dead when troopers arrived at the scene.

The pedestrian was a white male in his late 20s early 30s with dark hair and facial hair. He was wearing a black hoodie with OCI Construction on it. He also was wearing camouflage pants with the name “Bishop” embroidered over the pocket.
