A checklist of local, state and federal institutions and local businesses closed various days for Christmas. Residents of communities not listed should check their governmental office schedules.

City offices: Youngstown, Warren, Salem, closed Thursday; Niles, New Castle, closed Thursday and Friday; Sharon, Newton Falls Municipal Court, closing at noon today and closed Thursday.

County offices: Mahoning, Columbiana, closed Thursday; Trumbull, closed today and Thursday; Mercer, closing at noon today and closed Thursday; Lawrence, closed today through Friday.

All state offices: Closed Thursday.

Federal offices: U.S. Post Office, Youngstown, Warren, closed Thursday; Federal Bankruptcy Court, District Court, closed Thursday and Friday.

Schools: Youngstown, Warren, Niles, Salem, Sharon, New Castle, closed through Jan. 5; Youngstown Diocese, closed through Jan. 2 — please contact individual school.

Universities: Youngstown State, business offices closed Thursday and Friday; Kent State Trumbull Campus, closed through Jan. 2; Eastern Gateway Community College, closed today through Friday.

Western Reserve Transit Authority (WRTA): No night line service today, closed Thursday.

Public libraries: Youngstown-Mahoning County, Warren-Trumbull, Hubbard Public Library, McKinley Memorial Library — Niles, Newton Falls Public Library, closed today and Thursday; Girard Free Library, Bristol Public Library — Bristolville, closed today through Friday; Kinsman Free Public Library, closed today through Saturday.

Stock market: Early closing 1 p.m. today and closed Thursday.

Banks: First National Bank, Home Federal Savings & Loan — Niles, closing at noon today, closed Thursday; Farmers National Bank, Talmer Bank-Warren, Home Savings & Loan, closing at 1 p.m. today, closed Thursday; Charter One, Cortland Banks, Key Bank, PNC Ohio, PNC Pennsylvania, Huntington Bank — Austintown, closing at 2 p.m. today, closed Thursday; Chase Bank, closing at 3 p.m. today, closed Thursday.

Trash collection: Allison Brothers Inc., Allied Waste, Waste Management, Warren City Environmental Services, Waste-Tech Services, all closed Thursday, service delayed one day.
