Dog shot with arrow recovering from surgery

YOUNGSTOWN

Rambo the dog is doing fine after surgery on Monday to remove an arrow from his face.

Mahoning County Dog Pound Kennel Manager Rick Punison shared the news and said while they confirm the ownership of the dog, Rambo will be sent to the pound.

“The veterinarian keeps saying what a good dog he is,” said Punison. “He made it through surgery fine. Eating, drinking and doing fine.”

Officials with the office said they have gotten two to three tips on who might have shot the arrow at the dog and were tracking those down Tuesday afternoon.

The dog was found on Youngstown’s East Side, at Miami and Scioto avenues, running around with the arrow sticking out of its head about noon Monday.
