Howland, Jackson-Milton compete in wrestling event
HUDSON
The Howland wrestling team finished seventh and Jackson-Milton was 12th on Saturday in the Hudson Holiday Tournament.
Mitch Tikkanen of Jackson-Milton defeated Anthony Ramos of Parma 10-2 to capture the 113-pound title. The Bluejays’ Terry Stockton (120) placed fourth, Devin Seka (126) fifth and Anthony Italiano (182) fifth.
Howland had Jordan Radich (182) place third, Mike Bell (285) fourth, Jessie Matlock (120) fifth, Chuck Heckman (120) sixth, Jimmy Ierakis (132) fifth, and Jackson Deemer (170) sixth.
Sharpsville tops Fitch at Pymatuning Valley Duals
ANDOVER
Sharpsville won the first five individual matches Saturday on its way to a 49-21 win over Austintown Fitch as part of the Pymatuning Valley Duals.
Fitch’s Michael Bernard (182), Tyler Petrey (220), Joshua Kitchen (285) and Brock Morton (120) won individual matches.
Canton swimmers compete in Canton Christmas event
CANTON
The Canfield boys 200 medley relay of Cullen Brady, Matthew Bogen, Kyle Anderson and Ben Brucoli placed eighth with a time of 1:45.37 on Saturday in the Canton Christmas Invite.
Anderson placed 17th in the boys 200 individual medley with a time of 2:03.29. Bogen placed eighth in the boys 100 yard breastroke with a time of 1:03.83.
Alec Gaetano placed 19th in the boys 100 butterfly with a time of 56:48.
For the girls, Sarah Heaven placed fourth in the girls 100 backstroke with a time of 1:01.17 and she placed 11th in the girls 200 individual medley with a time of 2:17.70.
Theresa Mikolay placed 14th in the girls 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:10.29.
