YOUNGSTOWN

The Youngstown Community Food Center and Gleaners Food Bank, 94 Pyatt St., will have its 21st annual Christmas dinner at St. Patrick Church hall, 1420 Oak Hill Ave., from noon to 1 p.m. Christmas Day.

The group will provide a traditional holiday meal to all. Toys will be given to the children in attendance, and flowers to the elderly. Cookies, candy and fruit baskets will be offered.

The organization is accepting donations of money, food, clothing, volunteers and labor for the dinner and giveaways.

Donations are tax-deductible. Make checks payable to Youngstown Community Food Center and Gleaners Food Bank, P.O. Box 3587, Boardman, OH 44512.

Adoption agency plans info session

WARREN

Northeast Ohio Adoption Services, 5000 E. Market St., Suite 26, invites Mahoning Valley area adults, either couples or singles who are considering adoption or giving foster care to a school-age child, to stop in for an informal information session from 5 to 7 p.m. Jan. 6.

Interested individuals can speak to NOAS staff to learn more about Ohio children and teens who need good families.

Successful foster/adoptive families agree that getting a few questions answered at the very beginning is helpful. Nearly 4,000 children in Ohio are waiting for homes.

Village Network relocates to city

The Village Network has relocated from 5500 Market St. in Boardman to 1325 Fifth Ave. in Youngstown.

Veterans agency cancels meeting

YOUNGSTOWN

The Mahoning County Veterans Service Commission, 345 Oak Hill Ave., Suite 100, has canceled its Wednesday board meeting.

The VSC office will be closed Wednesday and Thursday, and will reopen at 8 a.m. Friday.
