Master Instructors LLC announced a significant aviation accomplishment on the part of Andrew Marinelli, an independent flight instructor and resident of Youngs-town. Marinelli’s accreditation as a master certificated flight instructor was recently renewed by Master Instructors LLC, which is the international accrediting authority for the master instructor designation as well as the Federal Aviation Administration-approved “Master Instructor Continuing Education Program.” Marinelli first earned this national professional accreditation in 2006 and is one of 27 worldwide to earn the credential five times.

HOSPITALITY

The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Youngstown North at 135 Highland Terrace Blvd., Warren, received the IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) 2014 Torchbearer Award, the company’s most prestigious award. The Torchbearer Award was presented during the 2014 IHG Americas Investors & Leadership Conference in Las Vegas in October. This location is one of 60 properties within the Americas chosen from the IHG system of more than 4,700 hotels for achieving the highest levels of excellence in all aspects of operation.

BANKING

F.N.B. Corp. announced that Steve A. Ek has joined the company in the role of chief consumer credit officer, reporting to Gary Guerrieri, the corporation’s Chief Credit Officer. Ek oversees all aspects of the consumer credit function at First National Bank, the company’s largest subsidiary. His responsibilities include monitoring and managing risk in the consumer portfolio, as well as supporting application processing, loan approvals and other administrative functions.

SHALE INDUSTRY

Millwood Natural, the local supplier of environmental containment products to the Marcellus and Utica shale industry, is expanding to meet the demands of the ever-growing oil and gas industry. The company hired two additional team members to better serve regions in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Ben Timmons and Amy Giovannone were hired to handle business development. In the coming year, they will work to develop stronger relationships with industry leaders. Millwood Natural offers several products such as crane mats, new and used pipeline skids, silt socks, straw wattles and containment stakes.

AUTO INDUSTRY

The National Association of Professional Women announced Amy Mattinat, the president of Auto Craftsman in Montpelier, Vt., as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year for her prestigious distinction in the automotive industry. Mattinat is the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Mattinat of Hubbard.
