Leonards’ 65th honored with family gathering

Donald E. and Jacqueline G. Leonard of Columbiana recently were honored for their 65th anniversary with a family gathering at the Dutch Haus Restaurant.

Mr. Leonard married the former Jacqueline G. Snyder Nov. 11, 1949, at Trinity Evangelical United Brethren Church in York, Pa.

Their children are Deborah (David) Detwiler and Renee (Larry) Miller, all of Columbiana. The family includes grandchildren, David D. Detwiler, Nicole Miller Shuto, Lauren Miller McAndrew and great-grandchildren, Hayli Davidson, Quenton Cross, Xathon Cross, Easton Shuto, Cora McAndrew, Maddow Detwiler, Brady McAndrew and Colson Shuto.

The couple have been members of First United Methodist Church for 58 years and both attended high school in York, Pa., and Kent State University Salem Campus.

They have vacationed on Fort Myers Beach, Fla., for the past 40 years.

Mr. Leonard retired in 1997 as senior salesman, director and part-owner of Yorktowne Caskets in York, Pa., where he worked 49 years. He also is broker and owner of Donald E. Leonard Realty in Columbiana. He served on Columbiana City Council for more than six years, was past president of Columbiana Rotary Club and is a life-member of American Legion. He is a U.S. Army veteran and served in the Korean War.
