WARREN
Police investigated a complaint from the mother of an 11-year-old Douglas Street Northwest girl regarding her daughter’s being assaulted just after she got off the school bus at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
When police arrived, they observed the victim to have a swollen and bruised eye and multiple lumps on her head.
Police were told another 11-year-old, who lives nearby, grabbed the victim’s hair, threw her to the ground and punched her in the face and head.
A neighbor observed the fight from her apartment window and went outside and broke up the altercation, she said. Three parents told police this has been an ongoing problem and they have spoken with the principal at their school about it.

Man indicted on charge of inducing panic
WARREN
Stephen W. Strawderman II, 30, of Fairlawn Heights Southeast has been indicted on a misdemeanor charge of inducing panic after he purportedly pointed a handgun at seven children as they were getting off of a Howland school bus Oct. 22.
A Trumbull County grand jury refused to indict him on the more-serious felony charge of disrupting public services.
Howland police said a bus driver reported he was dropping off seven children in front of Strawderman’s house when Strawderman pointed the gun, causing the children to scatter and one of them to say, “Don’t shoot us with a BB gun, Dad.”
The driver said all seven children live at the house, but he identified only one of them as being Strawderman’s child. Strawderman later told police by phone he pointed a toy gun at the children as a joke.
