OSHP troopers seize 234 pounds of weed in Summit County
HUDSON — A man and a woman face felony drug charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized 234 pounds of hydroponic marijuana, worth approximately $1.17 million after a traffic stop in Summit County.
Troopers stopped a 2010 Ford Taurus, with Nebraska registration, for a marked- lane violation on the Ohio Turnpike at 2:31 p.m. Wednesday. Criminal indicators were observed and a patrol drug-sniffing canine alerted to the vehicle. A probable-cause search revealed the contraband.
The driver, Terrance G. Hays, 63, of Leadville, Colo., and passenger, Beth L. Devine, 62, of Pittman, N. J., were taken to the Summit County Jail, and charged with trafficking in marijuana, a second-degree felony.
