Ohio unemployment rate down to 5 percent


COLUMBUS — The state’s unemployment rate for November came in at 5 percent — a decrease of .3 percent from October.

Ohio’s nonfarm wage and salary employment went from a revised 5,311,300 in October to 5,329,200 in November for an increase of 17,900 for the month, according to the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.

The number of unemployed workers in the state went down 18,000 from October.

In the past 12 months, the number of unemployed has decreased by 130,000.

The unemployment rate in November 2013 was at 7.2 percent.
