Man charged with bogus report during Stone search

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. (AP) — A Doylestown man is accused of making a bogus carjacking report while police were searching for Bradley Stone, who killed six people in the Philadelphia suburbs.

Bucks County authorities on Friday charged 54-year-old Luke Sanderlin with risking a catastrophe, reckless endangerment and making false reports to law enforcement.

District Attorney David Heckler says Sanderlin knew about the search for Stone on Monday when he reported being attacked by someone dressed in camouflage who looked like Stone, wielding a knife.

Police told residents to shelter in place, and a massive search involved dogs and helicopters.

The Intelligencer of Doylestown says Sanderlin was arraigned today and jailed when he couldn’t make bail. A preliminary hearing is set for next month.

Online court records didn’t list a defense lawyer for Sanderlin.
