Ceremony set for suicide awareness

A tree-lighting ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. Saturday next to the gazebo by Howland High School, 200 Shaffer Drive NE.

The event is to focus on suicide awareness and will remember loved ones who were fighting battles.

Ornaments will be available for $1 each, and a loved one’s name can be written on them. All proceeds will go to homes for kids.

Baked goods (with and without nuts and gluten-free), hot chocolate and hot tea will be served.
