Power outage hits commercial area of U.S. Route 224

BOARDMAN — Power outages have affected more than 120 customers along U.S. Route 224 including Southern Park Mall.

The outage started at about 10:20 a.m. that initially affected 123 customers, said David Turner, First Energy spokesperson.

As of 12:30 p.m., line workers have restored power to some businesses while investigating the cause of the outage, Turner said.

There is no estimated time to restore the power, he added.
