New trial ordered for Jordan Brown
WAMPUM, PA
The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled that the case of Jordan Brown should go back to Lawrence County juvenile court for a new trial. Jordan, 17, was charged in February 2009 when he was 11 with the murder of his father’s pregnant fiancee,
The court ruled he should have the chance to file a motion challenging the evidence used to convict him in his April 2012 bench trial. He was found to be an adjudicated delinquent — which means guilty in juvenile court — for killing Kenzie Houk, 26, on Feb. 20, 2009, as she lay in bed in a farmhouse the family was renting near Wampum.
Houk’s unborn baby, a boy who was due in two weeks, died from lack of oxygen.
