Housing sales down in Mahoning, Trumbull, up in Columbiana

Mahoning County saw a 6.3 percent decrease in closed housing sales in November.

Last month, 165 houses were sold compared with 176 sold in November 2013, according to data released by the Youngstown/Columbiana Association of Realtors and the Warren Area Board of Realtors.

On the other hand, the median sales price increased by 25.1 percent to $88,000 last month from $70,350 in November 2013.

In Trumbull County, closed housing sales decreased by 9.2 percent at 148 houses sold in November, down from 163 in the previous year. The median sales price was $84,000 compared with $62,450 last year — a 34.5 percent increase.

More homes were sold in Columbiana County with a 23.7 percent increase. In November 2013, 59 houses were sold, and last month, 73 were sold. The median sales price slightly decreased by 0.3 percent. Last month, the sales price was at $88,200 compared with $88,500 in November 2013.
