Helper pleads guilty in failed love-triangle plot

GREENSBURG, Pa. (AP) — A woman has pleaded guilty in a failed love-triangle murder plot last Christmas Eve.

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports 19-year-old Daryith Stevens, of Jacobs Creek, pleaded guilty Tuesday. She faces up to 40 years in prison when she’s sentenced in about three months on attempted homicide and other charges.

Stevens acknowledged plotting with 26-year-old Kimberly Thompkins and 24-year-old Robert Crosby to kill Thompkin’s husband, 29-year-old Adam Thompkins.

Prosecutors allege Kimberly Thompkins drove her husband to Cedar Creek Park on Dec. 24 where Crosby stabbed him, though Adam Thompkins survived. They both pleaded guilty in October and are also awaiting sentencing in Westmoreland County.

Kimberly Thompkins brought pliers to pull her husband’s teeth and told Stevens to bring gasoline to burn the body so it couldn’t be identified. Stevens brought only an empty gasoline can.
