Today is Health Insurance Marketplace deadline

Midnight today is the deadline to enroll in the Health Insurance Marketplace for coverage to begin Jan. 1, 2015.

Open enrollment continues in January and February, however, with coverage starting at later dates.

For those who enroll by today, coverage begins Feb. 1, 2015; and coverage for people who sign up by Feb. 15, 2015, begins March 1, 2015.

After that, with certain exceptions, people must wait for the next open enrollment period in the fall, said Kathleen Falk, Health and Human Services Region 5 director.
