YOUNGSTOWN

A community forum on policing will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday in the fellowship hall of New Bethel Baptist Church, 1507 Hillman St.

The forum’s purpose is to discuss safety problems and concerns of the community while avoiding attacking police officers.

The event will offer an open and honest dialogue to ensure police accountability, transparency and effectiveness and emphasize that community members must be active partners to make this happen, according to a news release.

Topics of focus will be diversity training, which will be led by Delphine Baldwin-Casey; use of force, led by Rick Alli; and innovations in recruiting and hiring and equity in justice led by Anita Davis.

Baldwin-Casey, Alli and Davis are all retired city ranking police officers.

Questions from attendees are welcomed.
