As selected by the Vindicator staff, this fall’s group features three individual state champions, a Mr. Football finalist and a 60-goal scorer among many other terrific feats.
It includes seven seniors, three juniors and one sophomore. The senior-heavy class saved its best for last both athletically and academically.
Some will take their talents to colleges across the nation. The underclassmen still have opportunities to add to their Mahoning Valley legacy.
All of them, though, have made this fall special in their own unique way.
These 11 athletes shared one common goal and that was to excel in their respective sports. From cross country to tennis, these athletes put in the time, effort and determination to reach their goals.
Through hard work and perseverance, these 11 players stuck out above the rest this fall.
The dedication both during the season and in the offseason propelled these individuals to new heights.
For some, the journey has been smooth sailing and sail on to new adventures. For others, the process was an emotional and difficult one, making the top of the mountain feel that much better at the end of the journey.
Some had to rise to the occasion of the spot lights although some were already glowing in them.
But in the end, they have had their share of moments and accomplishments and all will forever have a place in the Mahoning Valley high school sports scene.
