Ryan on ‘60 Minutes’

WASHINGTON

U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan of Howland, D-13th, will be featured on CBS’ “60 Minutes” on Sunday. The segment will be hosted by Anderson Cooper on the topic of Mindfulness. Mindfulness is about finding ways to slow down and pay attention to the present moment, which Ryan says improves performance and reduces stress. Ryan has written a book, “A Mindful Nation: How A Simple Practice Can Help Us Reduce Stress, Improve Performance and Recapture the American Spirit.”

Fire investigated

YOUNGSTOWN

Fire investigators are trying to determine what started a fire at a 361 Alameda Ave. home about 2:35 p.m. Friday.

Flames broke out inside the walls, and firefighters had to break apart part of the roof and right side of the North Side home to get at the fire. There was no damage estimate available. No one was injured.

Microgreens program

YOUNGSTOWN

The Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corp., 820 Canfield Road, will be hosting a free program from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday on the topic of microgreens. Microgreens are a way for produce farmers to produce a marketable crop during the winter months.
