Mahoning commissioners solicit bids for courthouse restoration

YOUNGSTOWN — The Mahoning County commissioners this morning approved construction documents and authorized advertising for bids for the $6.9 million restoration of the 103-year-old landmark county courthouse.

The advertising is to begin Dec. 23, with a Jan. 28 bid opening and a mid-February awarding of a contract. The commissioners’ goal is to complete the work in 2015, said Commissioner Anthony Traficanti.
