A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard, Liberty and Girard:
HUBBARD
Dec. 1
Harassment: Police charged 27-year-old Tabitha C. Fitzpatrick of South Schenley Avenue, Youngstown, with telephone harassment after her former boyfriend, of Orchard Avenue, alleged Fitzpatrick has sent and made a series of unwanted text messages and calls to him.
Dec. 3
Citation: Officers responded to a vehicular accident on North Main Street, where they issued a citation charging James Daniels Jr., 63, of Third Street, Warren, with driving under suspension.
Dec. 4
Arrest: Authorities received information about an erratic driver near West Liberty Street before issuing a summons charging 54-year-old Georgette A. Allen of Jacobs Road, Hubbard, with operating a vehicle impaired.
Dec. 5
Assault: A School Street woman alleged a girl placed the accuser’s 7-year-old son in a chokehold during an altercation after they had gotten off a school bus.
Citation: Brooke McCullough, 42, of Pulaski Road, Pulaski, Pa., was cited on a driving-under-suspension charge after police had pulled her over near South Main Street for speeding.
Breaking and entering: A man discovered someone entered a storage locker in the 100 block of Hubbard Road and removed a Christmas tree as well as boxes containing kitchenware items and personal effects.
Theft: Someone stole two Christmas lights and two bulbs from an apartment in the 200 block of North Main Street.
Dec. 6
Harassment: A Center Street woman alleged her landlord has been sexually harassing her, something he denied.
Dec. 7
Fraud: An East Liberty Street man looking for a job reported having received a FedEx package containing a $2,385 check, $500 of which he was instructed to keep and the rest to send to another person. An officer told the man it likely was a scam, a report showed.
LIBERTY
Dec. 2
Aggravated menacing: A worker for a Belmont Avenue clothing store told officers an irate customer threatened to harm her.
Burglary: Occurred at a residence in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive through the front door. One hundred thirty feet of copper piping valued at $500 was stolen.
Trespassing: A Keefer Road woman reported a 47-year-old Girard man was on her property, despite his having been told to stay off.
Dec. 3
Dog bite: An Ohio Adult Parole Authority agent told police that a pit bull attacked him while he was at a home in the 2500 block of Fifth Avenue. The agent admitted himself to ValleyCare Northside Medical Center in Youngstown for his injuries.
Dec. 4
Domestic violence: A township boy, 16, was charged with the crime after a family member alleged that during an argument, the teen had struck her face.
Drugs: Suspicious activity in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive caught the attention of police, who arrested 41-year-old Bridget S. Bowman of Liberty Street, Niles, on charges of possession of heroin, drug-abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia, along with Marsha R. Shelley, 48, of Warren-Meadville Road, Cortland, on charges of obstructing official business and permitting drug abuse. A can with burn marks for heroin use was found, and Bowman admitted having several straws for which to snort heroin; also, Shelley lied to officers about why they were in the area, a report stated.
Dec. 5
Breaking and entering: Someone entered a foreclosed home in the 400 block of Colonial Drive and stole 200 feet of copper piping worth $800 from the basement.
Identity theft: An Anderson-Morris Road woman reported getting numerous letters claiming she had applied for or been denied credit cards in her name, none of which she said was true.
Harassment: A Murray Hill Drive woman said she’s received a series of unwanted text messages aimed at ruining her reputation.
Dec. 6
Arrest: Police responded to a shoplifting situation at Walmart, 200 Goldie Road, before taking into custody Ryan W. Frye of Dennison Drive, Warren. The 21-year-old Frye was wanted on a Boardman Township warrant, and a theft charge was pending.
Dec. 7
Arrest: Renee A. Beshara, 58, was taken into custody at the Mahoning County jail. Beshara, of North Meridian Road, Youngstown, was wanted on a warrant charging failure to appear in court.
Citation: Officers responded to a two-vehicle crash near state Route 11 and cited 25-year-old Carla J. Scott of Smith Street, Niles, on a charge of operating a vehicle impaired.
Dec. 8
Arrest: Police were dispatched to the Mahoning County jail to pick up 45-year-old Michelle D. Vines of Upland Avenue, Youngstown, on a township warrant charging failure to appear in court. The original charge was disorderly conduct.
GIRARD
Dec. 6
Child endangerment: Police received a complaint of purported child abuse in which a 5-year-old Girard boy reportedly had been struck and thrown into a living-room chair. Nevertheless, authorities found no signs of abuse or injuries, they said.
Menacing: An East Broadway Avenue woman reported a neighbor yelled at her in a threatening manner.
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A Stambaugh Street woman said her boyfriend took her 2002 Saturn Vue vehicle without permission.
Dec. 7
Breaking and entering: Someone used a large rock to break a window and enter Bear Heating & Cooling, 214 W. Liberty St., though it appeared nothing was missing.
Harassment: A Washington Avenue woman told officers she has received derogatory and threatening text messages related to a civil dispute.
Menacing: An Elruth Court man noticed an envelope under his door containing two notes that caused him to fear for his safety.
Arrest: Authorities charged Shana M. Fleming, no age listed, with failure to comply with police and reckless operation of a motor vehicle after alleging Fleming, of North Meridian Road, Youngstown, had led officers on a vehicular pursuit on U.S. Route 422 that reached speeds of 78 mph after they had tried to pull her over.
Dec. 8
Dog bite: A man reported a dog bit him as he walked on Squaw Creek Drive.
Menacing: A Dearborn Street man said another man threatened to beat him up.
Theft: A woman and her son reported the son’s $600 iPhone stolen during a basketball game he attended in the 1200 block of Shannon Road.
Dec. 9
Breaking and entering: Someone broke into Morgan Furniture & Bedding, 160 Trumbull Ave. Nothing seemed to have been stolen, and police found no signs of forced entry, however.
Trespassing: Authorities charged 35-year-old Scott S. McCleery of Wyndclift Circle, Youngstown, with criminal trespassing after a man reported someone was in a North Highland Avenue apartment complex’s boiler room, possibly stealing copper piping. McCleery also was wanted on a Trumbull County 911 center warrant.
