Kristen Placer, Kyle Pearson are engaged

Kristen Elise Placer and Kyle James Pearson, both of Pittsburgh, and their parents are announcing their engagement.

Her parents are Michael and Lori Placer, and his parents are Kevin and Terri Pearson, all of Girard.

The couple are planning a noon wedding July 18, 2015, at Stambaugh Auditorium in Youngstown and a reception at Avalon Inn and Resort in Howland. Invitations will be issued for both.

The bride-elect graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She also graduated from Duquesne University with a master’s degree in child psychology and is studying there for her doctorate in school psychology.

The prospective groom also graduated from YSU. He earned a bachelor’s degree in social work. He also received a master’s degree in social work from the University of Pittsburgh. He is a mental health therapist for Mercy Behavioral Health.
