Winners announced in annual poster contest

Marlie Kluchar, a ninth-grader at Poland Seminary High School, won first place in the 11th annual Mahoning County Juvenile Court Advisory Board poster contest, which had a theme of “Community: It’s Not Just Where You Live.”

Her poster will be displayed on a billboard at 2271 E. Western Reserve Road.

Second- and third-place awards went to Nashaly Bermudez and Emily Galterio, respectively, both Poland Seminary students in the freshman and sophomore category.

In the junior and senior category, second place went to Alexis Kotouch, also of Poland Seminary; and third place went to Tauntianna Poland of the juvenile court-sponsored Mahoning County High School in Youngstown.

Contest co-sponsors were the DeBartolo Corp., Farmers National Bank and DiRusso’s Sausage Inc.

Thirty entries were submitted in this year’s contest, which was open only to Mahoning County high-school students.
