A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard, Liberty and Girard:
HUBBARD
Nov. 26
Assault: A Moore Street man reported having been punched several times in the face after he had yelled at several juveniles to stay off his property.
Drugs: After getting a complaint about possible drug use at a state Route 304 fast-food restaurant, police conducted a traffic stop nearby and arrested Stephanie L. Dudley, 22, of Wise Road, Jamestown, Pa., on a felony drug-possession charge when, they alleged, 0.2 grams of suspected methamphetamine was found in her purse. Also taken into custody and charged with possession of drug-abuse instruments were Steven T. Kerschner, 22, of South Mercer Street, Greenville, Pa., and Amanda N. Conti, 26, of Leech Street, Greenville.
Nov. 28
Arrest: Authorities responding to a report that a car had struck a Henry Street residence charged 22-year-old Zachary S. Lopuchovsky of Henry Street, Hubbard, with operating a vehicle impaired and obstructing official business. Lopuchovsky’s blood-alcohol count was 0.270, more than three times the legal limit, and he made a feeble attempt to hide from police in his home, they alleged.
Nov. 29
Arrest: The Ohio State Highway Patrol handed Patrick Altier of Cathy Ann Drive, Boardman, to Hubbard police. The 26-year-old Altier was wanted on a warrant charging failure to comply with a court order related to a criminal-simulation charge.
Criminal damaging: A car in the 400 block of West Liberty Street was found with its driver’s-side tires slashed. The damage estimate was $500.
Recovered property: A house key wrapped in tape was found in the 800 block of North Main Street.
Nov. 30
Child endangerment: Officers received information that a girl, 5, had been briefly left unattended in a vehicle in the 500 block of North Main Street. A relative was given a verbal warning and the child was not injured.
Harassment: A Saul Drive man said his former spouse, of West Middlesex, Pa., has been sending and making such emails and calls to him.
Dec. 1
Theft: A 16-year-old boy and a Hubbard man, 19, reportedly were seen on a surveillance camera stealing a bottle of wine from Express Gas, 175 Youngstown-Hubbard Road.
Dec. 2
Identity fraud: A Moore Street woman discovered about $1,152 worth of fraudulent charges had been made to her store credit card in a three-week period.
LIBERTY
Nov. 26
Arrest: Youngstown police in the 2700 block of Belmont Avenue relinquished custody of 23-year-old Kurtis M. Bechtel to Liberty authorities. Bechtel, of Kelly Road, Hermitage, Pa., was wanted on an outstanding township warrant.
Criminal damaging: Someone damaged coin machines at Bud’s Car Wash, 3622 Belmont Ave.
Nov. 27
Arrest: Authorities responded to a report of an intoxicated person on the ground before charging 64-year-old Patrick M. Toohey of Colonial Drive, Youngstown, with disorderly conduct and operating a vehicle impaired. Toohey was taken to ValleyCare Northside Medical Center in Youngstown after apparently falling and striking his head, a police report said.
Arrest: Joseph I. James, 23, of Wirt Street, Youngstown, was taken into custody at the Mahoning County jail on a township warrant.
Arrest: Police at the Mahoning County jail arrested 27-year-old Claudia M. Harris of Ferndale Avenue, Youngstown, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
Nov. 28
Arrest: Police on Tibbetts-Wick Road picked up Nicholas Kovalscik of East Second Street, Girard. Kovalscik, 26, was charged with failure to appear in court.
Nov. 29
Arrest: Mill Creek MetroParks police handed 20-year-old James M. Perkins of West Chalmers Avenue, Youngstown, to Liberty authorities. He was wanted on a probation-violation charge.
Stolen property/drugs: Police responded to a possible shoplifting situation at Walmart, 200 Goldie Road, where they charged 22-year-old Kelsey N. Sweeney of Harrisville, Pa., with receiving stolen property as well as possession of drug paraphernalia and drug-abuse instruments. Sweeney admitted having in her car a syringe, along with cosmetics that had been stolen from the store, authorities said.
Drugs: While answering a theft call at Walmart, officers charged Jeffrey P. Lopez, 32, of South Broad Street, Grove City, Pa., with possession of heroin and drug-abuse instruments when, they alleged, Lopez admitted having suspected heroin in his sock, and a hypodermic needle.
Citation: Authorities responded to a vehicle in a ditch off Interstate 80 before citing 32-year-old Stephen M. Morgan of Hopper Road, Transfer, Pa., on a charge of operating a vehicle impaired.
Nov. 30
Arrest: Police were dispatched to the Mahoning County jail to arrest 57-year-old Michael Phillips of Mistletoe Avenue, Youngstown, on a warrant charging failure to appear in court.
Harassment: A Scott Lane woman said a co-worker has made and sent her unwanted calls and text messages.
Dec. 1
Arrest: Police took into custody 40-year-old Karletta Jones of Saranac Avenue, Liberty, who was wanted on a Girard Municipal Court warrant.
Fraud: A Lamplighter Drive woman found out someone had used her credit/debit card without authorization to buy seven pairs of shoes online, racking up an $804 charge.
Dec. 2
Arrest: Susan Reynolds, 30, was taken into custody at the Mahoning County jail. Reynolds, of Lisbon Road, Canfield, was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
Auto theft: A Warren man reported his 1994 Mercury sedan missing in the 800 block of Tibbetts-Wick Road.
Arrest: Tangela L. McIntosh, 30, of Gypsy Lane, Youngstown, was arrested at the Mahoning County jail on a warrant charging failure to appear in court.
Breaking and entering: Someone entered a home in the 100 block of Mansell Drive and removed about $1,000 worth of copper plumbing.
Arrest: Austintown police apprehended and turned over to Liberty authorities 57-year-old Benjamin J. Eliseo Jr. of Steel Street, Youngstown. He was wanted on a charge of failing to appear in court.
Dec. 3
Arrest: Police charged 58-year-old June M. Slenker of Logan Way, Liberty, with operating a vehicle impaired after having answered a call pertaining to a possible domestic situation in the area.
GIRARD
Nov. 30
Burglary: Occurred at a home in the 700 block of St. Clair Avenue, from which roughly $6,285 worth of property, including a $900 diamond ring, was stolen.
Criminal mischief: An East Second Street woman alleged her former boyfriend broke a window to her residence. Damage was estimated at $300.
Harassment: An East Second Street woman alleged her former boyfriend sent inappropriate photographs of the accuser to her and her husband.
Drugs: Officers charged Roy D. Schimpf, 33, with disorderly conduct and possession of drug-abuse instruments after receiving a complaint that a man had urinated in a front yard in the 100 block of East Howard Street. Schimpf, of East Prospect Street, Girard, also had two syringes in his pocket, a report showed.
Dec. 2
Arrest: Police responded to a report of an erratic driver on Church Hill Road before charging 38-year-old Thomas E. Slagle of Holly Drive, Liberty, with operating a vehicle impaired.
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: An East Liberty Street woman reported a man borrowed her 2010 Chevrolet Impala several months ago, yet has never returned it as agreed upon.
Possible burglary: A woman in the 100 block of Morris Avenue told police she thought someone was in her basement and that she found suspicious footprints in her kitchen. Nothing appeared to have been taken, however.
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A South Lorain Avenue man said a friend borrowed but failed to return his truck.
Dec. 3
Aggravated menacing: A Crumlin Avenue man alleged a neighbor had threatened to kill him as the accuser walked his dog past the neighbor’s home.
