Nursing home chain sued for negligence

YOUNGSTOWN — The estate of a man, who allegedly suffered a fatal head injury after walking out of the Springfield Township nursing home where he lived, has sued the nursing home chain for more than $25,000 in damages in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.

The estate of Myron Esposite said Esposite left Masternick Memorial Health Care Center, 5250 Windsor Way, on Aug. 24, 2013, fell onto the pavement, struck his head and died the next day.

The lawsuit, filed this week and assigned to Judge Shirley Christian, alleges that the nursing home, owned by Windsor House Inc., negligently failed to provide adequate staffing, security and supervision. Windsor’s corporate counsel, John P. Daliman, declined to comment on the lawsuit.
