C.H. Campbell Elementary School students celebrated the school’s 16th Annual Career Day, which offered them an opportunity to learn about a variety of careers, on Nov. 14.

The event, which was organized by Diane Dankovich, guidance counselor at C.H. Campbell Elementary and Hilltop Elementary, showcased a large selection of careers presented by parent volunteers.

“We hold Career Day every year because our children are curious and we want to expose them to the idea that there are so many different careers they can go into. We have many different professions here today, and all are important. We have a large variety of representatives from all different fields. The children are very interested to learn about all the careers that are available to them,” Dankovich said.

Exhibitors included a graphic artist and web developer, a Brookfield fireman/paramedic, chemical engineer, ultrasound technician, pharmacist, registered dietician, pizza business owner, caseworker and community educator with Children Services Board, television promotions/production, cardiology nurse manager, emergency room nurse, registered nurse, police and SWAT officers, engineer, 3-D printing engineer, truck driver, golf pro and physical/occupational therapist.

Most of the displays were interactive and many exhibitors brought items to help them explain more clearly what their job entails, along with some souvenirs for the children to take home.
