Sheriff Altiere now says he’ll run again
WARREN
Thomas Altiere, who has been Trumbull County sheriff for 22 years, has changed his mind about walking away from the job at the end of 2015 and now says he would like another term.
“I had some job offers, but I thought, ‘I love what I do.’ What if I take another job and I don’t like it?” he said Wednesday.
Altiere, 65, has been saying since 2012 that the current term would be his last, but he now says he’ll be on the ballot in the spring of 2015.
Several other people have also said they will run, including retired Warren police officer Joe O’Grady, who made a public announcement last month, and Paul Monroe, Howland police chief.
