Hubbard couple files legal action against another 38 purported harassers

Garrick Krlich and his wife, Lucinda, of East Liberty Street in Hubbard, who have been the object of a horn-honking controversy at their home for several years, have filed a lawsuit in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court naming 38 people they say continue to harass them.

It is nearly identical to a lawsuit the couple filed in September 2013 except that it names different defendants. That case still is pending before Judge Peter Kontos, who also is assigned the newer case. The older case is set for trial Sept. 21, 2015.

The couple has filed police reports in Hubbard and complaints in Girard Municipal Court over the years, as well as civil stalking protection orders in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court.

Common Pleas Court Magistrate Patrick McCarthy has approved protection orders in about half of the cases he has decided since 2010. The orders generally also contain restrictions against stalking, harassing or bothering Garrick Krlich or his wife.

Krlich has filed seven additional protection orders this year, two in the last two months. McCarthy has not yet ruled on two of them.

The Krliches are asking the court to order the defendants to cease their behavior and for compensatory damages of at least $25,000 and punitive damages of at least $25,000.
