UPDATE | Austintown student writes paper on how to kill a teacher

A tutor of HOPE Academy was terminated after he suggested a student write about five ways how to kill a teacher.

HOPE, Helping Others Pursue Excellence, is an online branch of Austintown schools. A press release from the school district said that the tutor, a part-time limited-contract employee, has been terminated.

“The child was following the direction of ... [the tutor] who made a very inappropriate topic suggestion to the child,” Austintown schools Superintendent Vincent Colaluca said in a statement.

The 16-year old Austintown student was cleared by an investigation. School officials reported the incident to township police 9 a.m. Wednesday, a police report said.
