Commissioners OK transfer of East Webb Road to Austintown road system

YOUNGSTOWN

The Mahoning County commissioners approved this morning the transfer of East Webb Road from the county road system to the Austintown Township road system.

East Webb Road runs west from Four Mile Run Road to a cul-de-sac near the interchange of Interstates 80 and 680 and state Route 11.

The road was one of two deteriorated roads in Austintown, for which the commissioners awarded a $325,526 reconstruction contract in September to Stateline Paving LLC of North Lima.

The other road included in the reconstruction project was Victoria East Road, which runs from Ohltown Road to Victoria Road and provides alternative access to the Victoria Road industrial park, which incudes several major warehouses and an Ohio National Guard armory.

The road reconstructions were funded entirely by real estate taxes paid by the newly-opened Austintown racino, known as Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course.

Located at state Route 46 and Silica Road, Hollywood features casino gambling, horse racing, food and beverage service and live musical entertainment.
