Braceville man charged in death of purported burglary accomplice

WARREN

Police have charged an 18-year-old Braceville Township man in the death of his 18-year-old purported accomplice in a Nov. 22 Starlite Drive NW home invasion.

Peighton E. Bishop of state Route 534, is in the Trumbull County jail awaiting arraignment on involuntary manslaughter, aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery. He was arrested Wednesday at his home following a secret indictment by a Trumbull County grand jury.

Police say he and Trent Hall, 18, of Braceville Robinson Road in Braceville Township, and an unnamed juvenile broke into the home of Benjamin Talanca, 29, of Starlite Drive at 10:30 p.m.

In the scuffle that ensued, Talanca shot and killed Hall. Talanca suffered a severe laceration to the head as a result of the intruders using a blunt object on him, police said.

As of this time, the juvenile has not been charged.

The charges against Bishop are much like the charges and conviction of several people participating in an attempted burglary of a home in Niles in July 3013 in which the homeowner shot and killed one of the burglars.
