Smart Choice food orders begin Thursday

New Hope United Methodist Church, 21 Fairview Ave., is accepting orders for Smart Choice Food at the church with cash, check, money order or Ohio Direction Card from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, 4 to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to noon Monday.

Orders also will be taken at Niles Community Services, 401 Vienna Ave., from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. Monday.

Box choices range in price from $24 to $100 and include meat and vegetables, convenience meals, Christmas dinner box, case of variety beef steaks box, pork chop box and a dessert box. There is a special 2.5 pound peppercorn steak box available for $18 with the purchase of any other box. There are no income restrictions or guidelines.

Online specials at www.smartchoicefood.com can be ordered on the website or at the church. Mail-in orders will be accepted with payment of postal or bank money order or certified check to New Hope Church.

Payment and mail-in orders must be received by Friday. Online ordering will close at midnight Dec. 14. A 3 percent handling fee will be added to all online orders.

Distribution is from 9 to 10 a.m. Dec. 20. A community breakfast will be served the same day from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Santa Claus will visit during the breakfast.
