Mill Creek Park hike events set Friday and Saturday
YOUNGSTOWN — Mill Creek MetroParks will host “Remembering Volney Rogers” interpretive hikes Friday and Saturday starting at the Ford Nature Center, 840 Old Furnace Road. The hikes are free.
The purpose of the hikes is to remember the legacy of Volney Rogers, who was born in the first week of December and who died in the first week of December.
Friday’s event will go from 7 to 8 p.m., and will be a two-mile, moderate hike to his statue and back.
Saturday’s event will go from 1 to 3 p.m., and will be a three-mile, moderate hike.
