TODAY

Boar’s Head Ladies of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will serve a chicken dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. The meal includes mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, salad, bread and butter, pie and a beverage. The cost is $7. No reservations are necessary. Holy Family Parish, 2729 Center Road, Poland, will sell cavatelli dinners from 3 to 6:30 p.m. or until sold out. Meals include two meatballs, tossed salad, bread and butter, and two cookies for $9. A smaller portion of cavatelli and one meatball is $5. Homemade pasta fagioli will be $6 per quart, and homemade pasta sauce will be $5 per quart. The meals are takeout only. Place your order, remain in your car and your dinner will be delivered to you.

Humane Society of Columbiana County will host its fourth annual Rigatoni for Rescue from 4 to 8 p.m. at The Steel Trolley Diner, 140 E. Lincoln Way, Lisbon. The dinner price for adults is $8, which includes meatballs, or there’s a meatless dinner for $7. Both options come with a side salad and garlic bread. A “pups” portion (kids 10 and under) is available for $5. Call ahead for carryout orders. The diner also will be collecting shelter supplies for HSCC through December. Customers who donate supplies will receive raffle tickets to win a Steel Trolley Diner gift certificate. Supplies on the wish list include paper towels, trash bags, clay kitty litter, pet food for sensitive stomachs, latex gloves, laundry detergent, Odo-Ban and fuel cards. THURSDAY

Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Boardman-Poland Road, will sell homemade dinners to go beginning at 3:30 until sold out. Dinners, which cost $6, comprise baked stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and green beans. To take advantage of the drive-through service, drive to the front of the church, and you will be handed a dinner to go. No need to preorder or get out of your car.

VFW Triangle Post 2799 will serve spaghetti dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. at the post, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield. Prices are $7 for adults, $3.50 for children under 12 and $7.25 for carryout. The menu includes meatballs, salad, Italian bread and coffee or tea.

Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, will have a drive-through chicken dinner from 4 p.m. until sold out. The meal consists of stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and a brownie. Cost is $8 each.

FRIDAY

Christ the Good Shepherd at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell potato, prune and kraut pirogi for $6 per dozen. Phone orders may be made beginning at 8 a.m. at 330-755-1316, and orders can be picked up starting at noon. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers. No walk-in orders will be available.

Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 11 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. There is a limit of three dozen cabbage pirogi while supplies last. Orders may be picked up from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Containers will be provided.

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, will take orders for potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $6 per dozen. No containers are necessary. Orders should be placed from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at 330-746-9528 and are to be picked up between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday. Hot lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St., New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi for $5.50 a dozen. Orders can be called to 330-542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Walk-ins are welcome. The last sale before Christmas is Dec. 19

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, sells potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi on Fridays. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. The cost is $6 per dozen. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walk-in orders are welcome.

SATURDAY

New Hope United Methodist Church, 21 Fairview Ave., Niles, will serve spaghetti dinners with a tossed salad bar and dessert from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The prices are $8 for adults, $4 for children 5 to 12 and free for kids 4 and under.

St. Joseph the Provider Cultural Society of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish is sponsoring a cookie walk from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 633 Porter Ave., Campbell. All cookies are homemade. Prices are $8 per pound and $4 per dozen for pizzelles, clothespins and maple twists.

Vienna United Methodist Church, 4265 Warren-Sharon Road, Vienna, will serve Swiss steak dinners from 4 to 6 p.m. Meals include mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, coleslaw, applesauce, bread and butter, beverage and homemade dessert. Takeouts are available. Prices are $9 for adults, $5 for children 5 to 12 and free for kids 4 and under.

SUNDAY

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Society of St. Rose Church will host a pancake and sausage breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon at Rosetta Hall, 48 E. Main St., Girard. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children 3 to 12. Kids 2 and under eat for free.

St. Luke Episcopal Church, 348 Robbins Ave., Niles, will serve a creamed chicken and biscuit luncheon from 12:30 to 2 p.m. during the annual Christmas Gala. The meal includes mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potato casserole, green beans and dessert. The prices are $7 for adults, $3 for children and free for kids under 5. There will be a basket raffle and bake sale, and tickets will be available at the door. All proceeds will be used for the Community Outreach Food Program.

St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave., Youngstown, continues its monthly Sauce and Songs program with a spaghetti dinner and an afternoon concert featuring the Youngstown Community Concert Band. Dinners will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the social hall; the cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under. The menu includes a salad, bread, dessert and beverage. Carryouts are available, and containers will be provided. The concert will take place from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. and is free and open to the community. Free will offerings will be welcomed. Sts. Peter and Paul Church Senior Chapter of the Ukrainian Orthodox League is sponsoring a stuffed cabbage dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. or until sold out at the Orthodox Center, 1025 N. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown. Dinner comprises stuffed cabbage rolls with sauce, vegetable and haluski, salad and bread, coffee, tea and dessert. Columbiana First United Methodist Church, 210 S. Main St., Columbiana, will have a drive-through ham dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. The meal includes red-skin parsley potatoes, green beans, applesauce and a brownie. A $7 donation is requested.

TAKING ORDERS

First Presbyterian Church of Girard, 890 Church Hill Road, is taking orders for 15-inch homemade pepperoni rolls for $8 each, stuffed pepper soup and chicken noodle soup for $5 a quart and $3 a pint, fresh-baked bread for $2 for a large loaf and $1.50 for a small loaf, and cut-out sugar cookies for four for $1.
