CareRite Centers LLC acquired two nursing homes in Mahoning County.
The New Jersey-based rehabilitation and health care company purchased Pembrooke Place nursing home, 850 E. Midlothian Blvd., for $2.82 million, according to the Mahoning County auditor’s office. CareRite renamed the 99-bed facility Oasis Center for Rehabilitation and Healing.
The company also purchased Beeghly Oaks, 6505 Market St., in Boardman for $2.85 million. The 140-bed facility was renamed the Beeghly Oaks Center for Rehabilitation and Healing.
The two nursing homes previously were owned by Columbus-based firm Vrable Healthcare Co., which purchased the facilities from Forum Health in 2007.
“We are excited to grow in Ohio,” said Ashley Romano, the national director of patient experience at CareRite.
Plans for the two facilities include renovation upgrades and the development of specialty programs that focus on various clinical disciplines such as cardiovascular care, according to a press release.
Romano said new equipment would be included with the renovations.
CareRite also owns facilities in Pennsylvania and New York. The company also purchased the Heritage Center for Rehabilitation and Specialty Care in Minster, Ohio. The other Ohio facility is Hospitality Center for Rehabilitation and Healing in Xenia.
