Youngstown holiday parade, festivities are Friday


YOUNGSTOWN — The city’s annual holiday parade, that goes along Federal Street from Andrews Avenue to Hazel Street, steps off at 5:30 p.m. Friday.

At 4:30 p.m., there will be live holiday music performances on Central Square.

At 6:30 p.m., the city’s Christmas tree on Central Square will be lit followed by pictures with Santa at 20 Federal Place.

Also, admission to Oh Wow! The Roger & Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science & Technology is free Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Federal Street between Andrews Avenue and Hazel Street will be closed from 1 to 6:30 p.m. Friday for the parade and other activities. However, the street between Phelps and Champion streets won’t reopen until 10 p.m.
