Liberty school board seeks fill vacancy

LIBERTY — The Liberty Board of Education is seeking a qualified candidate from within the school district to fill a board vacancy.

Candidates should submit a written letter of interest along with any other information deemed important by Dec. 10 to the treasurer’s office at 4115 Shady Road, Youngstown, OH 44505.

The new board member will fill the unexpired term of Gloria Lang, 82, who died Thursday.

Lang began her term in January and it ends Dec. 31, 2017.

Lang was first elected to the board in 2006, said schools Superintendent Stan Watson. She was board president in 2008 and 2009. She resigned Sept. 30, 2011. There were no candidates in the November 2013 election, and Lang won as a write-in, Watson said.
