YSU Theater wins national honors
WASHINGTON
The Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival has awarded Youngstown State University Theater’s production of “The Spitfire Grill” earlier this fall with Certificates of Merit for direction, overall ensemble work and overall production value.
In addition, two cast members — senior musical theater majors Carly Magnuson of Canfield and Natalie Martzial of Youngstown — were chosen to showcase their talents at the Kennedy Center’s Region II theater festival at Cleveland State University in January.
Theater presents ‘Sound of Music’
NEW CASTLE, PA.

Planetarium shows
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.
The Westminster College Planetarium will present “Mystery of the Christmas Star,” recommended for age 8 and up, at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 6 and Dec. 13. The show scientifically explains the star the wise men followed on the night of Jesus’ birth. Also, “Let It Snow,” for all ages, will be shown at 5 and 8 p.m. Dec. 6 and 8 p.m. Dec. 13.
All shows are free, but reservations are required.
