Hierro moves on to Home Savings

YOUNGSTOWN

Frank Hierro has joined The Home Savings and Loan Company, wholly owned by United Community Financial Corp., as the Mahoning Valley Regional President, the bank announced today.

Hierro recently retired from Huntington Bank where he was a Valley executive.

Hierro will bring 30 years of team-development experience to grow customer relationships, Home Savings said in a release.

Hierro is on the boards of the Mahoning Valley Economic Development Corp., the Youngstown Business Incubator, Youngstown Area C.I.C. and Youngstown State University’s Foundation.

He is a graduate of YSU with a bachelor’s of science in finance and economics.

“We are so pleased to welcome Frank to Home Savings,” said Gary Small, president and CEO of Home Savings. “He joins the bank at an important time as we begin to execute our strategies to grow, particularly in commercial and small business lending. His leadership, business development skills and knowledge of the market will greatly enhance our ability to serve the Mahoning Valley.”

William C. Shivers took over Hierro’s position at Huntington in mid-November.
